Well, I definitely learned a few things last year in my short-circuited PCT thru-hike attempt. I have few regrets about deciding to cash in my chips and hope for better overall trail conditions this year, but at the same time I know that I can't let the weather, etc, fully dictate my hike. But hopefully I won't have to think about that too much. So far this year looks to be incredibly mild compared to last year- here in sunny San Diego it's only just started to seem like winter in the last couple days. When this picture was taken a week ago (Feb. 12), it felt like summer!

Well anyway, better weather notwithstanding, my primary worry this time around is finances. Last year I was in much better shape in terms of money saved for my hike. This year it's been much more difficult, so I'm making a last-minute push to get as much money together as I can. Click here if you'd like to buy some of my stuff to help support my hike!
